My client, a leading FMCG Manufacturer based in Kildare, is in need of a Junior Buyer to join their busy and growing site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join a leading Organization which has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

The duties for the Junior Buyer include but are not limited to:

  • Source materials and packaging required by the business from approved suppliers
  • Support the sourcing of new raw materials within agreed timelines for project success.
  • Intervene as required in areas of risk management prevention to ensure that disruption to supply is minimised
  • In conjunction with functional team members, introduce new sources and/or rationalise to develop and drive a cost reduction programme across all suppliers without impact on quality of materials currently been purchased
  • Support in building and maintaining strong relationships with all current and new suppliers
  • In conjunction with SCM, manage, monitor and measure supplier lead times and performance, taking corrective action where necessary. Build and maintain strong relationships with all key suppliers and new suppliers
  • With the Procurement team, review forecasts and contracts and, in accordance with delegation of authority and governance, secure additional raw materials as required
  • Adherence to ALL company policies and agreed KPIs as set out

The requirements for the desired Junior Buyer include:

  • Previous experience in a Procurement role
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment an advantage but not essential
  • Third level degree in business or similar relevant discipline is desirable
  • Previous sourcing and supplier management experience essential
  • Excellent negotiation, organisational, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and make sound business decisions
  • Customer service focus, with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Proficient with computer software programs- ERP systems, Excel Word etc.
  • Hardworking and reliable
