About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale IT infrastructure deployment as part of a major office fit-out project.
This is a greenfield environment requiring a proven project manager with experience delivering IT workstreams for new office builds, campus developments, or large-scale workplace relocation projects. The successful candidate will coordinate multiple technical teams, vendors, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure all IT infrastructure is delivered on schedule and is fully operational for business readiness.
Due to the scale and complexity of the project, this is a highly hands-on, site-based position. The successful candidate will be expected to spend significant time on-site conducting inspections, attending contractor meetings, monitoring progress and coordinating activities across multiple buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of all IT infrastructure aspects of a large office fit-out project from initiation through to completion.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coordinate multiple technical workstreams, including:
- Enterprise infrastructure
- Networking
- Audio Visual (AV)
- End-User Computing (EUC)
- Telephony
- Liaise with construction contractors, facilities teams and third-party technology vendors to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure IT infrastructure activities align with construction milestones and overall project schedules.
- Oversee equipment installation, testing, commissioning and business readiness activities.
- Manage project governance, reporting and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues and change requests.
- Coordinate go-live planning and transition into Business-as-Usual (BAU) support.
- Carry out regular site walk-throughs to monitor progress, identify issues and drive timely resolution.
Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects as part of office fit-outs, new building developments or major workplace relocation programmes.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale greenfield IT deployments.
- Strong technical understanding of:
- Enterprise networking
- Structured cabling
- Wi-Fi deployments
- End-user computing
- Audio Visual (AV) and meeting room technologies
- Telephony solutions
- Server room and communications room deployments
- Experience managing multiple suppliers, contractors and technical workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
Essential Skills
- Proven IT Project Management experience.
- Experience working closely with Facilities and Construction teams.
- Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks and project delivery methodologies.
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced and evolving project environment.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to drive delivery and resolve issues on-site.
Additional Requirements
- This is a primarily site-based role.
- The successful candidate must be comfortable spending extended periods on their feet and walking across a large campus as part of daily project delivery activities.
- A full driving licence and access to own transport are desirable.
Desirable
- PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical, manufacturing or large corporate campus environments.
- Previous experience delivering projects involving multiple buildings or large-scale workplace technology deployments.
