Our client, a leading organisation within the food processing sector, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to lead the HR function at its Roscrea operation.
This is a hands-on, operationally focused HR leadership role, supporting a workforce of 450+ employees within a busy, unionised environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager, Group Head of HR and wider operational leadership team, providing practical HR support across the site.
The role will also provide HR support to two satellite locations.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior HR Manager will have responsibility for the full HR agenda on site, including:
- Leading employee relations and industrial relations activity, including trade union engagement.
- Managing recruitment, workforce planning, headcount and employment permits.
- Advising and coaching managers and supervisors on all people-related matters.
- Overseeing training, onboarding, employee development and performance management.
- Managing attendance and supporting effective employee engagement and communication.
- Ensuring HR policies, processes and employment legislation are implemented consistently.
- Providing HR reporting and analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Working closely with Health & Safety and other site functions on people-related matters.
- Supporting HR projects, continuous improvement and business-led change initiatives.
- Managing and developing the HR support team.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with:
- A relevant HR qualification.
- 5+ years' HR experience, including at least 3 years' management-level experience.
- Strong experience in a hands-on, operational HR environment.
- Experience working with a large, labour-intensive workforce.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, retail or a similar environment.
- Experience within a unionised environment, with strong ER/IR knowledge.
- Proven experience coaching and supporting managers and supervisors.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
