HR Business Partner

About the Role
This role will act as a trusted partner to the business, supporting the delivery of people strategy across employee relations, organisational effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
A key focus of the role is to take ownership and lead improvements across HR processes, systems, and ways of working, bringing a growth mindset and a drive for continuous development across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and stakeholders to provide expert HR guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
- Support and actively contribute to negotiations with trade unions and employee representatives, helping to deliver balanced and effective outcomes.
- Advise on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders and employee representatives.
- Provide guidance on employment law and HR policies, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation and best practice.
- Take the lead in reviewing, improving, and streamlining HR processes, driving efficiency, consistency, and an enhanced employee experience.
- Drive the adoption and effective use of HR systems and tools, supporting ongoing development and optimisation (including platforms such as Workday and ServiceNow).
- Use HR data and insights to inform decision-making, identify trends, and support business outcomes.
- Contribute to and lead HR projects and initiatives, particularly those focused on process improvement and transformation.
- Lead and support recruitment activity for open roles, partnering with hiring managers to ensure an efficient and positive hiring process.
- Support and maintain core HR operational systems, including time and attendance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, changes, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
About You
- Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a generalist or HR Business Partner role.
- Experience working in a unionised or complex employee relations environment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or participating in negotiations and managing sensitive ER matters.
- A growth mindset, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and change.
- Comfortable working with HR systems and data, with the ability to translate insights into action.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
- Highly organised, resilient, and capable of operating in a fast-paced environment.
