FRS is delighted to be partnering with Aoibhneas in the recruitment of a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to support the cleanliness, hygiene, safety and overall presentation of Aoibhneas premises.

Role Purpose

The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across Aoibhneas accommodation and facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors.

The role will involve general cleaning, maintaining cleaning supplies, supporting room turnarounds and ensuring all assigned areas are kept clean, organised and hygienic. The successful candidate will also have a basic understanding of Health & Safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning duties across Aoibhneas premises and locations.
  • Clean floors, rooms, windows, surfaces and other areas to a high standard.
  • Clean and sanitise bathrooms and restrooms, including replenishing supplies and emptying waste.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust and maintain assigned areas.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of cleaning products, linen and other housekeeping supplies.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and maintained appropriately.
  • Transport, replace and manage linen as required.
  • Assist with the cleaning and preparation of residential rooms, including changing beds and preparing accommodation for new residents.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation throughout all assigned areas.
  • Follow relevant Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Carry out other housekeeping duties as required.

Person Requirements

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work within set timeframes and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proactive, reliable and positive approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with residents, colleagues and visitors.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision.
