WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR – HGV

Excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic or Technician ready to take the next step into a people-management role.
Our client is a long-established Volvo Truck & Bus dealership with an excellent reputation for quality, customer service and employee retention.
We are now looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead a team of 10–15 technicians at their busy Kildare depot.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll be responsible for keeping the workshop running efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, support and coordinate a team of 10–15 technicians.
- Allocate jobs based on skills, workload and agreed times.
- Monitor workshop efficiency, utilisation and job progress.
- Support technicians with fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and customer service.
- Liaise with Service Advisors and customers regarding job progress and additional work.
- Monitor technician performance and identify training requirements.
- Ensure workshop procedures, housekeeping and company standards are maintained.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' post-apprenticeship experience.
- Strong HGV/Commercial Vehicle mechanical background preferred.
- Previous Team Leader/Supervisory experience.
- Excellent people and communication skills.
- Calm, professional and technically strong.
- Comfortable working in a busy, time-critical environment.
- HGV/PSV licence an advantage.
