Our client, a leading food production facility based in Tipperary, is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will lead site Health and Safety and Environmental compliance while supporting continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and strengthen the site Health and Safety culture
- Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation and industry standards
- Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions
- Complete and update risk assessments and develop safe systems of work
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring effective follow up
- Maintain and communicate the site Emergency Plan
- Lead external Health and Safety and Environmental audits
- Manage training, inductions and training records
- Maintain Environmental and Energy Management Systems, including ISO 50001 compliance
- Carry out regular site inspections and maintain accurate records
Requirements
- Relevant Health and Safety and Environmental qualification with experience in a similar manufacturing role
- Strong knowledge of legislation and compliance standards
- Excellent IT, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, results driven environment
- High level of attention to detail
