Our client, a well established food production company based in South Tipperary, is seeking an EHS Officer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Site General Manager, this role will lead Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across a busy production facility while supporting the continued development of a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and strengthen Health and Safety culture across the site
- Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation and industry standards
- Conduct internal audits and report findings to site management
- Carry out and update risk assessments and develop safe systems of work
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain the site Emergency Plan and ensure procedures are understood by staff
- Lead external Health and Safety and Environmental audits and inspections
- Organise employee inductions and training while maintaining accurate records
- Maintain Environmental and Energy Management Systems including ISO 50001
- Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with environmental licence requirements
Requirements
- Health and Safety and Environmental qualification with relevant industry experience
- Experience in manufacturing, food production or industrial environments desirable
- Strong IT and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
