Our client, a long‑established Irish business operating for over 125 years, is recruiting a Health & Safety Manager for a newly created position. This is a stand‑alone role overseeing Health & Safety across four sites and approximately 170 employees. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director.

The Role

As Health & Safety Manager, you will develop, lead, and implement a comprehensive Health & Safety function from the ground up. You will have full responsibility for ensuring compliance, driving best practice, and promoting a proactive and engaged safety culture across the organisation.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a Group Health & Safety strategy aligned with ISO45001
• Carry out risk assessments and develop safe systems of work
• Ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice
• Monitor and improve site safety, including vehicle movement, pedestrian segregation, storage practices, and space management
• Maintain and update all H&S documentation, including policies, procedures and risk registers
• Liaise with auditors, insurers, regulatory bodies and external agencies
• Engage, train and support staff at all levels to drive awareness and accountability

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety role, preferably within logistics, distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing
• A relevant Health & Safety qualification (Higher Diploma in Occupational H&S, IOSH or equivalent)
• Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and H&S reporting systems
• Full driving licence with willingness to travel between sites
• Experience managing Health & Safety across multiple locations
• The ability to work independently and confidently in a stand‑alone role
