Health & Safety Coordinator

Location: Tipperary / Midlands
11-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Strong Potential for Permanency

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in the Tipperary/Midlands region, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team.

This is an initial 11-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Health & Safety management systems across the site.

Working closely with management, supervisors and employees, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and maintaining a safe and proactive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety policies, procedures and systems.
  • Carry out regular workplace safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and following up on corrective actions.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Method Statements.
  • Monitor compliance with site Health & Safety procedures and escalate areas of concern where required.
  • Assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
  • Identify root causes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain accurate Health & Safety, accident and incident records.
  • Identify & coordinate Health & Safety training requirements across the business.
  • Support Health & Safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Deliver Manual Handling training as part of the new employee induction process and coordinate refresher training.
  • Assist with fire safety inspections, emergency drills and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of Health & Safety reports, statistics and performance updates.

About You

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally Level 6 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
  • Good knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and workplace safety requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
  • Strong organisational, communication and administrative skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively with management and employees at all levels.
