Office based

With business operations across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the HR Generalist will provide day-to-day HR support, acting as a key point of contact for employees and managers on all people-related matters. The HR Generalist will contribute to fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture across the Group by supporting wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives. The role will also assist with community engagement programmes, employer brand activities, and the creation of content for internal communications and social media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries and employee support across the Group
  • Support managers with employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, absence management and return-to-work meetings
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns, job advertisements, interview scheduling and onboarding processes
  • Prepare contracts of employment, offer letters and HR documentation
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR systems and databases are kept accurate and up to date
  • Support compliance with employment legislation across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
  • Assist with probation reviews, performance management and employee development processes
  • Coordinate inductions for new starters and support employee engagement initiatives
  • Monitor annual leave, sickness absence and HR KPI reporting, highlighting any concerns to senior leadership
  • Support apprenticeship programmes, training initiatives and career progression opportunities within the business
  • Assist with HR policies, procedures, employee handbook updates and driver policy administration
  • Liaise with external HR advisors and support providers where required
  • Support wider company culture, CSR and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Assist with administration linked to payroll and employee benefits where required
  • Attend monthly HR and management meetings and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the Group
  • Support and help drive employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives across the Group
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of company culture activities, employee appreciation initiatives and internal events
  • Support community outreach, charity partnerships and CSR activities
  • Contribute content ideas for company social media platforms, recruitment campaigns and employer branding initiatives
  • Assist with promoting positive company culture internally and externally
  • Work alongside senior leadership to support employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Help coordinate internal communications and staff updates across the business

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Previous experience in a HR Generalist or HR Advisor role
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and sensitively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
  • Desirable Criteria
  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD
  • Experience operating across both NI and ROI employment environments
  • Experience within construction, engineering, utilities or fast-paced operational environments
