An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment. This role offers hands‑on exposure to real projects from concept through to production, with strong support and mentoring from experienced engineers.

The successful candidate will gain end‑to‑end experience across design, production support, customer interaction, and continuous improvement while developing strong technical and professional skills.

The Role;

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will support the delivery of engineering projects across the full lifecycle, including specification, design, review, release, and production support. The role is well‑suited to a motivated graduate eager to build practical experience in a fast‑paced engineering setting.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Support the full project lifecycle including specification, costing, design, review, release, and production support
  • Assist senior engineers and contribute to high‑quality engineering outputs across multiple projects
  • Develop sheet metal parts, assemblies, and drawings using Creo Parametric, including model‑based definition and assemblies
  • Actively engage with Creo eLearning and ongoing training to develop CAD and design capability
  • Assist with the design release process, ensuring designs are fully defined, checked, and supported by accurate Bills of Materials prior to production
  • Support the specification of parts and materials from suppliers and communicate requirements to Purchasing
  • Assist with prototype builds through the production process and provide assembly documentation and design files
  • Support production teams by providing clear assembly instructions and engineering clarification as required
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and, where required, assist in customer meetings alongside senior engineers
  • Maintain a strong focus on product quality and ensure designs meet customer specifications and internal standards
  • Track assigned tasks and report progress to the Engineering Manager
  • Participate in design review meetings with internal teams and customers
  • Support the Sales team by assisting with technical documentation and costings under supervision
  • Engage with Lean principles and support Engineering KPIs such as BOM accuracy, cost accuracy, and on‑time design release
  • Promote a positive safety culture and act in line with company values and behaviours

Skills & Experience;

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Exposure to 3D CAD software (Creo experience is advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong interest in design, manufacturing, and engineering problem‑solving
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Organised, proactive, and eager to develop within an engineering environment
  • Interest in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is beneficial
