FRS Recruitment is currently recruiting a Registered General Nurse on behalf of a Medically Supervised Injecting Facility (MSIF) in Dublin City. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing essential healthcare and harm reduction services to individuals in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment.
This is a full-time agency position for an initial 2-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
Service Hours
The service operates:

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 7:00pm

Saturday and Sunday: 12:00pm – 7:00pm
Successful candidates will be rostered in line with the operational needs of the service.
The Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will work primarily within the clinical area of the Medically Supervised Injecting Facility, providing safe and compassionate care to clients before, during, and after supervised injecting episodes.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, your responsibilities will include:

Supervising clients before, during, and after episodes of injecting.

Conducting comprehensive health assessments.

Managing medical emergencies and responding appropriately.

Delivering harm reduction advice and health education.

Providing brief interventions and primary care support.

Performing wound assessment and wound care.

Administering Naloxone where appropriate.

Referring clients to appropriate health, addiction, housing, and welfare services.

Building therapeutic relationships with clients in a respectful and non-judgemental manner.

Collaborating closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:

Current registration with the NMBI.

A minimum of 2 years' post-registration nursing experience.

At least 1 year's experience working in a low-threshold environment, such as homelessness, addiction, or other community-based services.

Experience in wound assessment and wound dressing.

Training in the administration of Naloxone.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

A compassionate, person-centred approach with the ability to work effectively in a challenging and rewarding environment.
