Our clients based in Dublin and Laois, both leading manufacturers within the heavy equipment sector, are currently seeking experienced Plant Fitters to join their workshop teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Construction Plant Fitters with strong hydraulic and mechanical experience working on heavy plant, construction, quarry, agricultural, or similar machinery environments. Full product training and long-term progression opportunities are available within well-established and expanding companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fit, install, service, and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems on heavy plant machinery
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical faults
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Carry out maintenance, servicing, and overhaul of plant machinery and components
  • Work on engines, transmissions, axles, brake systems, steering systems, and hydraulic systems
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and pre-delivery inspections of machinery
  • Maintain accurate service records and paperwork
  • Operate workshop equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand tools
  • Work safely and follow all company health and safety procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a wider engineering and production team

Requirements

  • Qualified trade background such as Construction Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Hydraulic Fitter, Agri Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, or similar
  • Strong hydraulic and mechanical experience
  • Experience working with heavy plant, agricultural, quarry, or construction machinery
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical diagrams
  • Diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills
  • Full clean driving licence desirable
  • Must have existing authorisation to live and work in Ireland
  • Fluent English required
