We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Financial Analyst & Commercial Modelling Specialist due to business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys translating complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, you will play a key role in supporting business growth through the development of financial models, commercial pricing solutions, tender submissions, and strategic business cases. Working closely with Commercial, Operations, HR, and Finance teams, you will ensure that pricing proposals are commercially competitive, financially robust, and aligned with organisational objectives.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex commercial challenges, and wants to make a tangible impact on business success.

A predominantly remote role with some days in the initial weeks working from a Tipperary office.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models to support bids, tenders, business cases, and strategic projects.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis to assess commercial opportunities and risks.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all financial modelling outputs.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance data to support strategic decision-making.

Tender Pricing & Commercial Bid Support

  • Collaborate with operational and commercial stakeholders to gather cost, resource, and pricing assumptions.
  • Develop robust pricing models that balance competitiveness, profitability, and risk.
  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of tender responses and commercial proposals.
  • Evaluate contract opportunities and renewal pricing strategies.

Commercial Insight & Profitability Analysis

  • Assess customer, contract, and service-line profitability to identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Provide recommendations that support sustainable business growth and commercial performance.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.

Forecasting & Business Planning

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning activities through detailed financial analysis.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities that may impact business performance.
  • Provide insights that support resource allocation and investment decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Decision Support

  • Partner with stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, HR, and Finance functions.
  • Present financial findings, assumptions, and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear and commercially relevant insights.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, approval processes, and financial controls.
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for pricing models and commercial assumptions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of modelling methodologies, pricing frameworks, and commercial processes.

Essential Requirements

  • QQI Level 8 Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, bid pricing, tender support, or financial modelling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and dashboard development.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful commercial insights and recommendations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing strategies and contract profitability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or equivalent), or currently working towards qualification.
  • Experience supporting public or private sector tenders and procurement processes.
  • Experience using Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, or financial planning and analysis tools.
  • Experience within a contract-based, healthcare, facilities management, logistics, outsourced services, or related commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of pricing methodologies, contract costing, and commercial risk assessment.
