Role Purpose

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Administrator will provide essential support across the day-to-day financial operations of Aoibhneas. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of financial administration activities, including transaction processing, reconciliations, record maintenance and general finance support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Sage.
  • Process accounts payable, supplier reconciliations and payment schedules.
  • Record and reconcile receipts, banking and petty cash transactions.
  • Process income receipts and maintain relevant control accounts.
  • Assist with employee expenses, month-end reconciliations and journal postings.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of one year’s relevant experience in a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or administrative role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial processes and accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable, supplier reconciliations and processing financial transactions.
  • Experience handling confidential information and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage competing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Strong administration and time-management skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with financial systems and databases.
  • Experience preparing financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Previous experience within the not-for-profit or charity sector.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism.
