FRS Recruitment are now recruiting for a Farm Machinery Assembly & Repairs person.

This is a fulltime, permanent role based in central Galway (25min East of Galway City)

Our Client is proud to support farmers with a comprehensive range of agri products, services, and expert advice.

The successful candidate will come with with a strong understanding of agricultural machinery, excellent mechanical ability and good knowledge of farm machinery spare parts.

As a member of the Farm Machinery Assembly & Repairs team, you will be involved in assembling, servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment. You will need to be comfortable working independently, solving mechanical problems and identifying the correct replacement parts to get machinery back working efficiently.

Strong spare-parts knowledge is particularly important for this position. You should be confident identifying components, checking compatibility and finding the correct parts required for repairs and assembly. A formal qualification in agricultural mechanics is an advantage, but hands-on experience and the right technical ability will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble new farm machinery and agricultural implements to a high standard.
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on agricultural machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and identify appropriate repairs.
  • Inspect machinery and components to identify wear, damage and potential problems.
  • Identify and source the correct spare parts and replacement components.
  • Use parts diagrams, manuals and technical information to identify components.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing and parts used.
  • Prepare machinery for delivery, sale or return to customers.
  • Assist with the inspection and preparation of machinery coming into the business.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
  • Work safely and follow appropriate workshop and company procedures.
  • Provide practical technical support to colleagues and customers where required.
  • Take ownership of jobs from diagnosis through to completion.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with agricultural/farm machinery.
  • Strong mechanical and practical skills.
  • Proven experience in machinery assembly, servicing and repairs.
  • Good knowledge of agricultural machinery spare parts and components.
  • The ability to identify parts using diagrams, catalogues and technical information.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • A strong understanding of workshop health and safety.
  • A full driving licence.
