Environmental Process Technician

Currently seeking an Environmental Process Technician to join a chemical production company in Co. Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience operating or managing wastewater treatment systems who is looking to develop their career within the environmental and chemical manufacturing sectors.

This is a hands-on operational role involving laboratory analysis, chemical dosing support and production activities. The successful candidate will work across both production operations and laboratory environments

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine sampling and laboratory analysis of water and wastewater samples.
• Support chemical dosing operations and ensure correct chemical usage.
• Identify and troubleshoot process issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Maintain accurate operational, environmental and laboratory records.
• Support chemical manufacturing activities and production processes.
• Assist with plant maintenance, equipment checks and general housekeeping.
• Operate production equipment, including forklift and bobcat (training can be provided where required).
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Experience operating or managing wastewater treatment systems, effluent treatment plants or water treatment processes.
• Experience with sampling, testing and monitoring water quality parameters.
• A practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small operational team.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

• Qualification in Environmental Science, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Water Treatment or a related discipline.
• Laboratory experience, including water/wastewater analysis or quality control testing.
• Previous experience within the water, wastewater, environmental or chemical manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of chemical handling, dosing systems and process optimisation.
• Forklift licence or willingness to undertake training.
