An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced EHS Manager to take ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety across a busy, high-volume food manufacturing site in Co. Longford.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the site EHS strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance while driving a strong, proactive safety culture and continuous environmental improvement.

The Role

You will have responsibility for:

  • Leading all EHS activities across the manufacturing site.
  • Ensuring compliance with Irish H&S legislation, EPA licence requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Managing the site's ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
  • Overseeing EPA Industrial Emissions licence compliance, environmental monitoring and statutory reporting.
  • Leading risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, contractor safety and permit-to-work systems.
  • Developing and delivering EHS training, toolbox talks and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Managing environmental programmes covering waste, water, energy, emissions and carbon reduction.
  • Acting as the key site contact for the EPA, HSA, Irish Water and other regulatory bodies.
  • Monitoring EHS KPIs and providing regular performance reports to senior management.
  • Driving continuous improvement projects and developing a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an EHS Manager / Senior EHS role, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar high-volume production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience with EPA licence compliance and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems.

Qualifications

A relevant degree or qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable, along with professional qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.

Experience in sustainability, carbon reduction, ESG or environmental improvement projects would also be advantageous.
