A well-established Irish engineering and construction contractor is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This role will be based from their office in North Cork, with project work across the South-West region of Ireland.
The successful candidate will play a key role across the full project lifecycle — from design and specification through to construction, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities

Design and specify electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations

Prepare documentation including load schedules, electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, cable schedules and commissioning plans

Support the development of control philosophy and system architecture

Coordinate with civil, mechanical and process engineers to integrate electrical systems into plant designs

Review electrical schematics, P&IDs and wiring diagrams

Carry out cable sizing calculations

Prepare and submit technical electrical documentation and respond to client comments

Conduct site surveys to inspect existing installations and equipment

Source and procure electrical equipment for projects

Support the installation and commissioning of electrical panels, motors, MCCs, VSDs, lighting and instrumentation systems
Candidate Requirements

2–3+ years’ experience in a similar electrical engineering role

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related discipline

Strong knowledge of LV electrical and control systems

Good understanding of instrumentation systems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
