Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Little Island, Cork, is seeking an EHS Coordinator to join their EHS team. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this is a key site-based role with a particular focus on managing third-party contractors and ensuring safe, compliant execution of works on site.
What you will be doing:
- Managing and issuing Safe Work Permits / Permit to Work for maintenance, contractor and project activities.
- Coordinating and monitoring third-party contractors to ensure full compliance with site EHS requirements.
- Reviewing method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work before work commences.
- Ensuring contractors adhere to PPE requirements, site procedures and controls for life-critical activities.
- Supporting safety investigations, incident reporting and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitoring EHS performance and driving improvements through site KPIs and action plans.
- Supporting Management of Change (MOC), safety reviews and the development of safe working procedures.
- Supporting environmental compliance, including waste and wastewater activities.
What we are looking for:
- Higher Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an EHS / Health & Safety role within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Proven experience with Permit to Work / Safe Work Permit systems is essential.
- Experience managing and coordinating third-party contractors on a manufacturing site.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Experience within a GMP or similarly regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and hold others accountable.
