We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing engineering and construction specialist to recruit a Senior Design Technician for their Domestic Projects team in Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company with a strong reputation for delivering high-specification projects across cleanroom, pharmaceutical, and temperature-controlled environments, and to work on technically challenging and rewarding projects.


The Role

Working closely with a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in delivering projects from design through to construction, taking full ownership of technical design packages and ensuring high-quality outputs at every stage.

You will act as the technical lead for your assigned areas, supporting coordination, problem-solving, and ensuring alignment between design intent and on-site delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of detailed drawings and models for assigned project areas
  • Take ownership of design packages from concept through to construction
  • Coordinate design with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Carry out clash detection and resolve technical issues proactively
  • Ensure all outputs meet project specifications, programme, and quality standards
  • Support site teams with design queries and technical challenges
  • Attend site meetings and assist with installation alignment
  • Review and check work completed by junior team members
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate staff
  • Maintain high QA/QC standards and compliance with industry regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or design
  • 5+ years’ experience in a design or technical role
  • Strong AutoCAD skills (essential)
  • Experience with Revit and BIM tools (advantageous)
  • Solid understanding of construction detailing and project delivery
  • Experience in cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments (highly desirable)
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take ownership and work collaboratively within a project team
