FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Design Lead / Coordinator on behalf of a well-established specialist contractor delivering controlled environments and high-specification internal fit-out projects across Ireland and Europe.
Based in Cork City, this opportunity would suit an experienced Design Coordinator looking to progress, or a Design Lead seeking to join an established in-house design team. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to a strong pipeline of specialist projects across Ireland and Europe.
Reporting directly to the Design Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate the design process across allocated projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will work alongside a strong design team, while collaborating closely with project teams, commercial teams, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
Experience within controlled environments would be highly relevant, although candidates coming from internal fit-out, office refurbishment, new-build offices, large-scale residential, healthcare or education projects would also have a very transferable background.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate design activities across allocated specialist construction projects.
- Manage design deliverables from pre-construction through to completion.
- Coordinate drylining, ceilings, partitions and internal finish packages.
- Liaise with architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
- Work closely with project, commercial and site teams.
- Review drawings, specifications and detailed design information.
- Manage technical queries, design meetings and drawing revisions.
- Support value engineering and ongoing design improvements.
Requirements
- Design Coordinator, Design Lead or similar construction experience.
- Construction, engineering or architectural design third level education
- Internal fit-out or refurbishment experience would be highly relevant.
- Commercial, residential, healthcare or education experience considered.
- Knowledge of drylining, ceilings, flooring and partition systems.
- AutoCAD or similar design software experience is desirable.
- Irish or UK construction experience highly advantageous.
