Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced DeltaV Automation Engineer to support the delivery of automation solutions for a manufacturing facility in the Dublin region. The role will focus on the design, development, testing, commissioning, and validation of Emerson DeltaV DCS systems to support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and CQV teams to deliver robust, compliant, and reliable automation solutions in line with project timelines and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development and delivery of automation software and hardware solutions to support equipment FATs, SATs, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Design, configure, code, and test DeltaV software changes throughout project lifecycle and commissioning phases.
- Develop and implement automation solutions in accordance with ISA-88 (S88) batch control standards.
- Support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities, including DeltaV software shakedown and verification.
- Deliver cost-effective, compliant automation solutions aligned with project requirements and schedules.
- Collaborate with automation, engineering, and project teams to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure automation standards are consistently applied and DeltaV library modules are used effectively.
- Troubleshoot DeltaV hardware configuration, operator interfaces, databases, and control system issues.
Key Skills & Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience working with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems, preferably within a site-based pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environment.
- Strong experience designing, configuring, and programming process control systems.
- Experience with ISA-88 (S88) batch process control within the (Bio)Pharma sector.
- Proven experience in control system commissioning, startup, and validation activities.
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements within regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements is advantageous.
- Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of process instrumentation and automation hardware is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced project environment.
