FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Estimator on behalf of a well-established Main Contractor based in Co. Offaly.
Working as part of an established and large commercial team, the successful candidate will be involved in the preparation and management of tenders across a highly varied portfolio of construction projects.
Our client delivers projects throughout the Midlands, alongside larger-scale developments across Dublin and Leinster. Their portfolio provides excellent variety, ranging from retail and commercial developments to educational, healthcare, heritage and high end construction projects.
This would particularly suit an Estimator with 3+ years' experience with a Main Contractor in Ireland or the UK, looking to join an established commercial team with strong opportunities for long-term career development.
The position will initially be primarily office-based in Co. Offaly, with hybrid working arrangements open for consideration following a successful onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for building and construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation thoroughly.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs and cost assessments.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare competitive tender submissions within required deadlines.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities during tender preparation.
- Liaise closely with commercial, construction and management teams.
- Support tender handovers following successful project awards.
Requirements
- Minimum three years' estimating experience within construction.
- Main Contractor experience within Ireland or the UK.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and costs.
- Comfortable reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills when dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Able to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
- Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification highly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- €57,000 – €80,000 salary, depending on experience.
