FRS Recruitment are partnering with a leading specialist construction contractor to recruit an Estimator for their expanding commercial team based in Cork.
This well-established contractor has built an excellent reputation delivering specialist construction and internal fit-out solutions across the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Food Manufacturing and High-End Construction Projects. Working throughout Ireland and mainland Europe, they are involved in technically demanding projects requiring high-quality work, specialist systems and close collaboration with some of the construction industry's leading organisations.
Joining an experienced commercial team, the successful candidate will prepare competitive tenders for specialist fit-out packages including drylining, ceilings, partitions, fire-rated systems and associated interior works. Working closely with the design, procurement and project delivery teams, you will play an important role in securing new business while supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor operating on complex, high-value projects across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and BOQs.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs for specialist fit-out packages.
- Review tender documentation and identify commercial risks.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare competitive tender submissions and supporting documentation.
- Support value engineering and alternative construction solutions.
- Assist with project handovers following successful tenders.
- Maintain estimating records, cost databases and benchmarking information.
Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within construction or specialist fit-out.
- Experience pricing drylining, ceilings or partitioning packages desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Good commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Experience within commercial, industrial or data centre projects advantageous.
- Irish/UK construction experience highly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary guide of €55,000 - €70,000 depending on experience.
