We are seeking a motivated Company Accountant to take ownership of core accounting, payroll, banking, compliance, and HR administration responsibilities. Initial Contract role with view of going permanent.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Audit
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Finalise annual accounts for audit.
- Post nominal journals.
- Support and coordinate the annual audit.
Banking
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Post payments and sundry receipts to the cashbook.
- Send daily bank receipts to sales representatives.
- File aged debtor reconciliations.
Payroll (Weekly & Monthly)
- Run payroll through Sage Payroll.
- Upload payroll submissions to Revenue.
- Process mileage and travel expenses through payroll.
- File enhanced reporting submissions.
Pensions
- Maintain employee pension deductions and remit monthly contributions.
- Liaise with pension providers to update and maintain employee records.
- File Auto‑Enrolment Returns with Revenue.
HR Administration
- Maintain holiday, sick pay and absence records.
- Manage general employee queries and ad-hoc HR matters.
- Maintain company health insurance policy.
Intrastat & VIES
- File monthly Intrastat returns & VIES submissions.
VAT
- Prepare and file bi‑monthly VAT returns.
- Calculate postponed accounting import figures for VAT submissions.
Fixed Assets
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
Repak & CBAM
- Compute and file Repak returns.
- Manage ongoing CBAM filing and compliance obligations.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Qualified by Experience.
- Proven experience in a diverse, hands‑on accounting role within an SME environment.
- Strong payroll processing and management experience, ideally Sage Payroll.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage deadlines across multiple functional areas.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organisational skills.
