FRS Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager for a senior leadership position based in the Laois.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Midlands. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will oversee the commercial performance of multiple live projects while leading and developing an experienced commercial team.
Projects include public realm developments, road improvement schemes, utility infrastructure, ESB works, drainage, earthworks, groundworks and commercial developments for both public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial function across multiple live civil engineering projects.
- Oversee CVRs, cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Manage valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
- Provide commercial guidance to project delivery and management teams.
- Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors within the commercial department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support business growth through effective commercial management.
Requirements
- 10+ years' Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management experience.
- Previous experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally within the Irish/UK Construction Industry.
- Strong leadership experience managing commercial teams.
- Proven experience overseeing CVRs, cost reporting and forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of contract administration and commercial processes.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full driving licence.
