We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Clerical Officer Grade IV to join our Finance/Payroll Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, supporting hospital operations and staff.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Working as part of the Payroll team, under supervision and guidance where required, the successful candidate will:
- Preparation and processing of payrolls, incorporating calculation and verification of all the constituent components, and ensuring completeness, accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all tasks and inputs associated with same.
- Accurate completion of periodic, monthly, annual and other returns, forms and all related documents both for Revenue and individual employees.
- Ensuring that adequate payroll, pension and other records are maintained in a satisfactory condition and provide payroll information as required.
- Completion of any other compliance
- Preparing Fortnightly Payroll and completion of Monthly returns and inputs.
- Liaising with internal department managers and HR business partners.
- Systems development: assisting in the development and introduction of new systems and implementation of system changes arising from legislation, social welfare and Revenue.
- Ensuring GDPR protection standards in line with Policy.
- To ensure statutory deductions are calculated correctly.
- Answer Payroll queries from staff.
- General office administration.
- Cover duties for other Payroll staff.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in processing payroll in a busy environment.
- Proficiency in SAP HR Payroll or similar systems.
- Strong numerical and IT skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Understanding of payroll cycles, statutory returns, and pension-related public sector guidelines.
- Experience in a hospital or public sector setting.
- Familiarity with multi-cycle payrolls and high-volume data systems.
- Exposure to change management initiatives (e.g., new systems, shared services).
