Working with a well-established civil engineering and road construction contractor, FRS Recruitment are seeking a Junior Road Engineer to join their growing team in County Kildare.
Established over 30 years ago, our client delivers road construction, resurfacing, civil engineering and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients nationwide. Operating from multiple locations across Ireland, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality roadworks and civil engineering projects.
This opportunity would ideally suit an engineer with around one year's experience on Irish road construction projects who is looking to build on their existing knowledge while working alongside experienced engineers on a range of infrastructure projects. The role offers strong exposure, ongoing support, and genuine long-term career progression within a well-established contractor.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of road construction projects.
- Carry out setting out and surveying duties on site.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Monitor quality standards throughout project delivery.
- Maintain accurate site records and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors and supervisors.
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Report progress and technical issues to the senior engineering team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 1+ year's experience on road construction projects in Ireland.
- Experience with Total Stations and GPS equipment is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of roadworks, drainage and earthworks.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a site-based project team.
- Full Irish driving licence.
- Irish/UK experience highly advantageous.
