The Role
My client, a well-established Irish eCommerce retailer, is seeking an experienced Content & Category Lead to take ownership of website trading performance, category management, and content operations.
This is a management-level role suited to someone who has led teams within an Irish eCommerce or online retail environment and understands how content and category strategy drive commercial performance. You will lead a team responsible for product and website content while owning category performance across the online store. This role combines people leadership, commercial category management, and eCommerce trading optimisation.
Tasks & Duties
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of content executives (direct reports)
- Set KPIs, manage workflow, and ensure delivery to commercial deadlines
- Conduct performance reviews and drive continuous improvement
- Implement structured processes to improve output quality and efficiency
Category Ownership & Trading
- Take full ownership of assigned product categories from a commercial and content perspective
- Optimise product listings to drive conversion, AOV, and revenue growth
- Monitor trading performance and identify opportunities to increase sales
- Work closely with buying, merchandising, and senior leadership teams
Website & Content Governance
- Oversee product catalogue accuracy, structure, and completeness
- Ensure best-in-class product page standards across all categories
- Identify and implement improvements to website UX and product presentation
- Maintain high standards of compliance, brand tone, and consistency
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, SEO, and Buying teams to support campaign activity
- Align content and category strategy with broader commercial objectives
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an Irish eCommerce or online retail environment
- Proven experience managing a team with direct reports (minimum 2+)
- Strong background in category management, online trading, and product catalogue ownership
- Experience working with CMS, ERP, or PIM systems in a live retail environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive commercial performance through website optimisation and merchandising
- Confident using KPIs, reporting, and data insights to inform decisions and improve results
- Experience improving team processes and operational efficiency within an ecommerce function
- Currently based locally with full legal working rights and able to commute to North Dublin (office-based)
