Key Areas of Responsibility

• Lead & Empower the Team: Cultivate a high-energy, customer-first culture through daily coaching, structured performance management, and clear, decisive direction.

• Drive Sales Initiatives: Spearhead strategic sales campaigns and margin improvements across Trade, DIY, and Retail customer segments to maximize profitability.

• Foster Engagement & Development: Champion staff engagement, nurture talent, and support succession planning through continuous learning and mentoring.

• Unite Branch Operations: Seamlessly align yard, sales, and administrative teams around common revenue and operational goals.

• Strengthen Client & Supplier Relations: Build and maintain robust relationships with local customers, key suppliers, and external sales reps to spot new market opportunities.

• Optimize Commercial Performance: Manage pricing strategies, oversee the branch budget (P&L), control overheads, and coordinate closely on debt collection.

• Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee fleet management, maintain optimum stock levels, lead accurate stock takes, and uphold flawless health, safety, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Proven People Leadership: Extensive experience managing, uniting, and developing multi-functional teams (yard, sales, and admin) toward shared targets.

• Commercial & Sales Acumen: A strong track record of designing and driving sales initiatives, managing P&L budgets, and analyzing margin data to make profitable business decisions.

• Industry Experience: A solid background in building materials, construction trade, or a related retail environment.

• Communication & Negotiation: Outstanding natural ability to negotiate, solve problems dynamically, and communicate with clarity and diplomacy.

• Safety & Compliance Focus: A proactive commitment to maintaining rigorous health, safety, and operational standards across the site.
