A growing manufacturing company is expanding its engineering team and hiring a Manufacturing Automation Engineer as part of a major growth phase. This is a newly created role with strong long-term development and exposure across a wide range of engineering projects.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll support manufacturing operations while driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and improving automated equipment and systems (not design work), ideal for an early-career engineer ready to take ownership of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and KPI improvement
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment
- Work with PLC systems (fault-finding & modifications)
- Lead and support engineering projects
- Analyse and present data for decision-making
- Support NPI, testing & validation
- Drive Lean and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Degree in Automation / Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1+ year post-grad manufacturing experience
- Automation & equipment support experience (non-design)
- Understanding of PLC systems
- Project management experience (coordination & delivery)
- Strong data analysis & reporting skills
- APQP experience essential
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
