Your Impact
As Assistant Director of Nursing, you will:

Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing and care teams
-
Uphold the highest standards of resident safety, dignity, and autonomy
-
Act as Person-in-Charge when required, ensuring full regulatory compliance
-
Lead governance, audits, quality metrics, and HIQA standards adherence
-
Oversee daily operations of an 80-bed unit
-
Drive staff development, supervision, and mandatory training compliance
-
Support strategic and operational planning
-
Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and evidence-based care
You will play a central role in fostering a resident-centred approach where individual needs, rights, and comfort always come first.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
-
Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
-
Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience in the acute sector
-
Strong knowledge of audits and quality care metrics
-
Experience managing rosters and supervising HCAs and Staff Nurses
-
Clinical competence in managing deteriorating patients
-
Excellent IT skills (including Excel)
-
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
Desirable
-
Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Emergency, Gerontology, Medical/Surgical Nursing)
-
QQI Level 6+ in Management or Leadership
-
Experience in discharge planning and patient flow
-
MDT coordination experience
-
Proven people management capability
