Assistant Design Manager – Cork
A growing, delivery-focused engineering and design company in Cork is seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager / Design Lead to join its expanding team.
This organisation specialises in turning complex design concepts into practical, buildable solutions across the full construction lifecycle.
The Role
You will combine hands-on technical expertise with structured design management responsibilities, working closely with project teams, BIM specialists, site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities

Lead design coordination across multiple live projects

Oversee QA/QC compliance across design and BIM teams

Carry out clash detection and model integration

Support site teams with design interpretation and amendments

Assist in workload planning and resource coordination

Mentor and develop design technicians

Drive best practice in BIM workflows and standards
Requirements
-
5+ years’ experience in design-to-fabrication or construction
-
Strong AutoCAD, Revit & BIM experience
-
Knowledge of Navisworks / BIM 360 desirable

Experience supporting projects through to site delivery

Strong communication and leadership ability
