Assistant Branch Manager (Sligo)

Are you an experienced Retail Supervisor/Manager looking for your next challenge? If you have a strong background in fast-paced retail, a natural talent for leading teams, and a genuine interest in the building and construction sector, this is the perfect opportunity to transition your skills into a highly rewarding, dynamic industry.

As Assistant Branch Manager, you will partner with the Branch Manager to run daily operations, oversee our bustling retail department, and lead a motivated team. We don’t just sell building materials. If you are ready to trade late-night retail hours for a structured, trade-focused environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Branch Manager in driving a culture of continuous improvement. Provide performance coaching, leadership, and guidance to the team.

  • Oversee all daily functions within the branch, ensuring exceptional customer service both in-store and over the phone.

  • Assist in meeting revenue, profit margin, and safety goals.

  • Manage cash office duties, support stock control, handle aged stock, and maintain branch records.

  • Be fully competent across all branch support activities (tills, goods inwards, and ordering) to step in and lead by example when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong Retail Background: You know what makes a retail department tick. You understand merchandising, customer service excellence, and commercial KPI targets.

  • Proven People Leadership: Experience supervising, motivating, and developing a team in a busy retail or commercial environment.

  • Interest in Building Materials: You don't need to be a qualified builder, but a keen interest in, or curiosity about, construction, DIY, or building materials is essential.

  • Commercially Smart & Organized: Exceptional communication skills, computer literacy (MS Word & Excel), and a knack for problem-solving.

  • Dynamic & Flexible: A self-motivated team player with a professional presence who thrives under pressure.
