Area Sales Representative – Steel Division (Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth & N.Ireland)

Our client is seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Sales Representative to join the Steel Division, covering the North and Northeast of Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales of steel products within the assigned territory.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Proactively prospect and engage potential customers, ensuring all leads are followed up effectively.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and performance objectives.
  • Regularly travel throughout the territory to meet with current and prospective customers, understand their requirements, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing and sales agreements while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Communicate product features, benefits, and value propositions to customers.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, including daily call reports, weekly activity plans, and territory performance analyses.
  • Work closely with the internal sales and support teams to maximise sales opportunities and deliver exceptional customer service.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven sales experience with strong selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working towards and achieving sales targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using CRM and sales reporting systems.
  • Flexibility to work remotely and travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • Experience within the steel, construction, manufacturing, or building materials sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
