FRS Recruitment are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our clients team in Virginia Co Cavan on a contract basis. This is an initial 3- month contract which offers a flexible work environment.

About the Role
• Assisting the accountant with the completion of monthly management accounts (e.g., calculating and posting of journals and accruals/prepayments).
• Assisting with the analysis of monthly P&L activity and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Assisting in forecasting and analysing monthly and yearly sales, direct costs, and overheads.
• Assisting in accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury functions.
• Assisting in planning, overseeing, and finalising monthly and yearly WIP calculations
• Maintaining and reconciling grant debtors’ schedules.
• Liaising with other departments to resolve queries.
• Preparing VAT, VIES and Intrastat returns.
• Assisting with audit preparation and completion of annual statutory accounts.
• Participating in various process improvement initiatives and other ad-hoc projects as defined by the business.
• General office duties within the Finance Department.
Qualifications & Experience
• 3 – 5 years’ experience as Accounts Assistant in a similar environment
• Qualified Accounts Technician is an advantage but not essential.
• Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness
• Competent in the use of IT
• Ability to display high levels of numeracy.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Effective communication & people skills
• Flexible, organised with the ability to work as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
