Waste Water Engineer

Job Overview

My client is currently recruiting for a Waste Water Engineer to join their busy food manufacturing company.

The Engineer is directly responsible for the coordination and maintenance of all waste water plant equipment. This person is responsible for the execution of the maintenance activities and works to ensure a productive and reliable plant

Duties and responsibilities:
· To maintain all waste water and utility plant equipment
· To monitor plant downtime and record and report on same in a timely manner weekly initiating all corrective action plans/ improvement initiatives
· To manage the performance of the equipment and look to seek improvements in all areas of performance and cost
· Responsible for establishing the maintenance schedule for the WWTP and related areas (sumps, pumps & wash stations, etc) and providing formal records and log books of same
· Establish the spare parts store and requirement to effectively maintain the plant
· Manage schedule for shutdowns and major planned works
· Allocate and manage weekly maintenance spend on running and maintaining the plant and seeking to reduce and maximise on same
· Propose purchase scheme to support budget spend
· Manage all contractors as per policy ensuring safety compliance at all times and auditing standard of works
· Act as cover for Operations for holidays and absent days
· Complete full formal handover for annual leave and time off
· Compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures to include but not limited to (PPE/ Breathing apparatus/ Safety equipment/ Work permits/ lock out and tag out/ security controls)
· Health and safety compliance reporting and raising formally all issues timely
· Part of the Emergency Response Team
· Involved in odour abatement projects for the WWTP and general site
· As part of training, review all SOP's and Risk Assessments and comply with same at all times
· Food safety compliance at all times ensuring Bio Security controls are maintained at all times
· On call rotation as part of contract, calling to site for checks and alarm call outs
· Support various projects across the business
· Assist in troubleshooting and data capture to support facilities engineer
