VMware Engineer

Job Overview

Required Skills / Experiences:
· 3+ years VMware engineering, certification(s) a plus
· 4+ years Microsoft Windows engineering
· Good working knowledge of VMware solutions; vSphere, vCenter (Windows, VCSA), Update Manager, Site Recovery Manager, vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Automation Manager
· Development, deployment and support of enterprise scale systems
· Good experience in troubleshooting and support of ESXi, virtual machines, Guest OS, network and storage
· Knowledge of Converged Infrastructure - DellEMC VBlock, VxBlock, Cisco UCS
· Knowledge of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure - DellEMC VxRail, vSAN Ready Node, Nutanix
· Excellent experience in Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, +) platform, Installation, configuration, performance, debugging, understanding of core Operating System constructs such as memory, kernel, processor, network and storage IO
· Experience in scripting: PowerShell / PowerCLI, with ability to Automate repeatable processes and reports
· Experience with Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB protocols
· Experience with capacity planning, configuration management and forecasting growth
· Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting, triage and root cause analysis
· Develop and document process and procedures; runbooks, internal KB articles, technical diagrams
· Execute standard operating procedures to implement changes to production and non-production environments
· Engineer, deploy and innovate solutions for the enterprise while maintaining existing technologies

Special Requirements:
On-Call requirement as part of a rotation
Occasional ad hoc out of hours work as needed if issues are encountered or complicated production changes are required.
