Training Specialist

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Training Specialist will have in-depth knowledge, experience and understanding of training principles and methodologies. This individual should have a proven track record in good manufacturing practices, technical writing and lean principles. They will be responsible for ensuring all employees are trained in adherence to governing procedures and that they are competency assessed prior to certification.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and support and be the point of contact for all new employees/contractors from the beginning of their employment.
  • Coordinate and managing the onboarding of all new employees from a training perspective.
  • Responsible for the training/upskilling of current members of staff to meet versatility targets
  • Implement robust systems and processes that ensure all employees/contractors are trained in adherence to site procedures.
  • Working with site management team on developing SOPs for all tasks across by site by department.
  • Liaise with HR on the implementation of training standard.
  • Perform and document competency-based assessments on employees/contractors prior to certification/sign off.
  • Coordinate induction and onboarding schedules for new employees.
  • Responsible for the development, documentation and filing of training records for all employees/contractors
  • Provide direction and be responsible for ensuring employees/contractors are operating in accordance with site procedures from a quality audit perspective
  • Provide trending detail and analysis of site versatility and training performance
  • Coordinate and perform regular testing of employees/contractors to ensure all are competent to perform their assigned tasks
  • Develop Lean Systems using tools and techniques to meet continuous improvement targets that are critical to the success and delivery of a high-performance plant

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualification in Business/Science/Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with governing procedures
  • Reduces complexity and increases efficiency in processes to maximise outcome/return
  • Leads by example, with a "can do" approach, passion, energy and a strong work ethic
  • Very strong organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Drive to exceed goals and push self and others towards high levels of performance
  • Makes good decisions and delegates responsibility and accountability to the appropriate level
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence others
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to the industry
