Trade Compliance Specialist

Job Overview

Our client in Mayo is seeking to hire a Trade Compliance Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis.
As part of a strong growing team - you will report to the Finance Director with a strong link to the US.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquires and maintains a sound knowledge of business operations to identify and mitigate trade compliance risks
Stays abreast of changes in trade laws, determines impacts on the Company, and disseminates knowledge to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
Provides expertise with Trade Compliance for export and import activities.
Performs tariff classification of products for export in accordance with applicable regulations.
Ensures that procedures related to trade regulations and reporting requirements are in place for all appropriate areas of responsibility and personnel at manufacturing sites.
Investigates and gathers information to create reports for potential or verified matters of non-compliance.
Conducts regular internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures.
Maintains Trade Compliance training programs and compliance record keeping processes.
Develops and delivers training to site staff, as well as record keeping establishing requirements and compliance with company programs.
Support Customer Service departments with Trade Compliance issues, such as Export License Determination and End User Documentation.
Engages legal departments in the implementation of Trade Compliance programs and related documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS
The Trade Compliance Specialist is a key position at the facility in Castlebar. Excellent organisational, communication and people skills are required to effectively fill this role.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience working in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors are desired.
Excellent understanding of trade compliance.
Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
Ability to solve complex problems by analysing possible solutions using subject matter expertise, judgement, and precedents.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) programs.
Be a strong team member with the ability to identify and drive efficiency improvements.
