Our client is looking to recruit a tax technical professional to join the firm's Tax Knowledge Centre in Dublin on a permanent basis.
The remote is offered as hybrid.
Your new role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven tax professional to work closely with the tax teams in developing and communicating the firm's position on tax matters and manage the sharing of expertise and knowledge across the firm.
You will be working with the Head of the Tax Knowledge Centre to:
Share tax knowledge, learnings and experiences across the tax teams;
Deal with tax technical queries from colleagues;
Communicate tax developments in Ireland, and internationally with colleagues;
Publish tax bulletins and updates as needed;
Facilitate frequent meetings with tax teams to share expertise and insights into the current tax developments and client issues and to collectively identify solutions and appropriate actions;
Manage monthly tax podcast covering the latest in tax in ROI with a focus on engaging with current and prospective clients, and colleagues by informing them of key tax developments;
Identify, develop, schedule and present (when required) at firm events and webinars;
Work with colleagues to resolve tax technical issues, providing a view/second opinion on tax technical matters, as they arise;
Write responses to; public consultations, requests for feedback, tax administrative matters and tax issues of concern;
Inform and update colleagues across the firm on key tax matters;
Collaborate with the Tax Technology teams to discuss latest developments and project(s). Share experiences of issues and initiatives and explore opportunities;
Develop and manage the Tax Knowledge Centre.
Your skills and attributes:
Member of a recognised accountancy body with post qualification experience in a practice or a regulatory role.
Self-motivated with ability to use initiative and capable of making key decisions while also actively collaborating with teams and keeping the Head of Tax Knowledge Centre informed of key developments;
Skilled in researching, analysing, interpreting and communicating Irish tax law and Irish tax policy;
An excellent knowledge of technical, regulatory and ethical standards in the area of tax and an understanding of EU tax law and principles and interactions;
Experience of management of several deadlines and projects;
Ability to support and guide others when required;
Excellent listening and communication skills; written and presentation;
Willingness to learn and develop.
Experience in writing articles and papers for publication;
Competence in developing and writing tax technical and policy submissions to government and other regulatory bodies;
Experience in presenting on tax law and policy.
