Sustainability Engineer
Job Overview
Our client currently has a need for a Corporate Sustainability Associate on a Permanent Contract. This role will be based in Newbridge, Kildare and will report to the Corporate Sustainability Lead. This role is to support the delivery of the Corporate Sustainability Strategy.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
To support the Corporate Sustainability Lead in the delivery of the clients Corporate Sustainability Strategy
Gather robust ESG data from across the organisation. Assist in the preparation of clients returns under SI 426/2014 (energy efficiency); work with the Corporate Sustainability Lead and colleagues from finance and the BU in preparing the data for Taxonomy reporting, and other disclosures both voluntary and as required by law
Assist in the development and rollout of ESG management system (process and procedures) and the auditing and assessment of compliance with the agreed processes and procedures
Assist the BU to embed good Sustainability & ESG practices into their respective operations and to support and liaise with the Sustainability Business Unit Co-ordinators (SBUCs)
Support the collection, collation, and verification of the clients Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions; contribute towards planning and steering cleints journey to a net zero company.
Work with the companies procurement teams in development sustainability criteria, green practices and a circular economy ethos to the purchase of goods & services. To support the HR team in the implementation and monitoring of the 'social' metrics as defined by ESG legislation

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:
Minimum Science, Engineer or Environmental/Sustainability Degree.
A Masters or higher degree in the Sustainability area would be beneficial.
Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland
Strong communication and influencing skills; Knowledge in Utility / Operations / Energy sector; experience in ISO auditing an advantage
