Currently recruiting for a H & S Specialist for their site in the Northwest that is currently undergoing an extensive upgrade to meet the ever increasing global demand for their product.
YOUR NEW JOB:
Reporting to the Head of Operations as H & S Specialist you will be responsible for the on-going development of H&S Management systems within the site. This is a senior standalone role where you will liaise closely with the senior site mgt team.
Day to day some of the key elements of this exciting H & S Specialist job will include:
* Act as site contact for regulatory bodies and other external bodies such as HSA on H&S / COMAH issues.
* Develop and implement all necessary H&S procedures and policies and ensure compliance with legislation, codes, standards, and industry best practice
* Facilitate site team in the execution of planned inspections, risk assessments, training needs analysis, PPE surveys and occupational health & hygiene surveys including workstation ergonomic surveys
* Review high-risk activities on site and develop improvement programmes based on the Safety Hierarchy of Controls theory
* Monitor and review site specific H&S KPIs
* Assess need for and manage accreditation of the H&S management system to a recognise standard (ISO 45001 or other)
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
You will hold a relevant qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, have a good understanding/experience of COMAH regulations and have 4 yrs + H & S experience in manufacturing, chemical and/or construction.
