Job Overview

FRS Recruitment is partnering with a large-scale farm based in the Middle East and seeking applications for the role of Senior Veterinarian. For this role you will hold a relevant Degree in Veterinary Medicine and 5 to 7 years post graduate experience. Previous experience of specialising in poultry animal health is essential.

Currently producing 2.5 million broilers per week from in its modern broiler farms, hatcheries and broiler breeder farms, my client is one of the market leaders in fresh poultry products in the Middle East.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate health and breeding/Hatching issues as they arise and to formulate control and preventative measures to resolve them.
  • Train and develop the assistant staff veterinarians, staff veterinarians, and senior staff veterinarians.
  • Design and perform trials to investigate problems, assess procedures or technologies that could be beneficial to Poultry flocks the health, performance and/or profitability.
  • Analyse data to investigate problems, identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that the veterinary team provides their knowledge, support and expertise on all topics orientated around animal welfare when communicating with farm staff.
  • Develops and administers ongoing testing protocol for disease monitoring, disease susceptibility and prevention, and vaccination programs.
  • Monitors performance and recommends adjustments in programs, policies and procedures to improve performance in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with other veterinarians for medical procedures.
  • Monitor and reviews animal health status and takes corrective action.
  • Conduct medical inspection and suggest remedial actions in complex cases.
  • Trains stockmen (health and breeder) on health management and breeding procedures and techniques

Experience required.

  • Qualified Veterinarian with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in specialized poultry practice and have broad experience in poultry health and production.
  • Familiar with modern developments in large poultry health production & medicine
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and dedicated.
