Senior Occupational Therapist (Palliative care)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Highly Motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Progressive and Supportive Palliative care team in county Louth.

This very exciting role will suit an experienced Occupational Therapist with a broad knowledge base and experience of working in a wide variety of clinical fields who wishes to specialise in the field of palliative rehabilitation.

Role: This is a fulltime 12 month contract, working Monday- Friday based in Drogheda County Louth.

Summary:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of palliative care interventions, strong communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to work well within a close multi-disciplinary team. If you have proven leadership and supervisory skills and are eager to work within a multidisciplinary team, in a structured environment this is your opportunity to lead service improvement initiatives in the palliative care occupational therapy service this role is ideal for you!

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy. Eligibility for membership to the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI)
  • CORU registration
  • Highly specialist knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning
  • Experience of evidence based practice and outcome measures
  • Motivational skills and goal setting for personalised care
  • An ability to work autonomously and to set own and others' priorities
  • An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to therapist/therapy service performance
  • Excellent advanced communication skills
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses
