I had the pleasure of meeting with this company last week at their newly named Innovation Technology Centre of Excellence in Galway and I am excited to be assisting them with the recruitment of a QC Lab Systems and Equipment Specialist to join their Global Quality Team

This is a renowned Medical Device Multinational company with only 300 employees based in their Galway site- a lovely down to earth company with a "very close family " type vibe , they employ 1,500 staff worldwide! They have a great story to tell ………
They are in the early stages of a multimillion euro renovation to give the site a complete overhaul and achieve a "campus" feel. This company has extremely low-turn over, due to constant innovation and new projects it has become a sought after employer in the Galway region. This QC Lab Systems and Equipment Specialist position has come up due to new and exciting innovations that have recently been announced and further expansion is in the pipeline.

Job Purpose
As QC Lab Systems & Equipment Specialist, you will be based in Galway , This is an opportunity to join an organisation in which you will play an integral role in the Global Quality Team, you will work within a small team of 10 , you will report to the Global Quality Manager who is based in Galway , you will not have any direct reports but you will have the autonomy to influence and guide Laboratory Managers in the other 5 sites globally (Asia & America) .
Your job will be to drive consistency of the laboratory test equipment and methods by standardising the Lab processes and systems in the Global Laboratory Team across 6 sites. Travel will be required once per year to each of the 5 sites so travel 5 times per year predominantly based in Asia and America

Duties of the Job
*Lead the Global Laboratory team- with specific focus on evaluating and improving the laboratory capability at each site, transferring knowledge through best practice sharing, conducting gap analyses through audits and escalating the visibility of key indicators and initiatives
*Drive a continuous improvement focus - on equipment, methods, processes and procedures
*Quality Lab site support - you will support the global sites by formalising the appropriate levels of maintenance & technical support in agreement with experts from R&D and Global Engineering.
*Manage the integrity of lab data
*Delivery of Lab training - Support the training and certification of lab personnel at the different global sites
*Definition of reference equipment - You will work with R&D to define the reference equipment to enable product specifications to be established.
*Enhance the Lab Data acquisition systems - Ensure that the most appropriate lab data acquisition and management systems are in place
*Validations for existing & new analytical equipment
*Laboratory analysis - You will be the Global Quality focal point who will agree with R&D, the Global Mix Lab and other functions to agree the most appropriate site to assist in the evaluation of raw materials, substrate and finished products as well as Competitor offerings.
*You will be the focal point to exchange with the Global Quality Centre network on emerging trends with Lab equipment, methods, systems & KPI's.

Requirements
* Bachelor degree, or higher, in a science discipline
* 8+ years' experience in a high volume manufacturing facility with strong quality control and quality assurance experience
* Analytical physics/chemistry background or experience in developing lab methods & standards
* Experience with chromatography instrumentation
* Experience of method development, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability analysis
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access) & Google applications
* Strong presentation skills.
* Experience with Lab Management systems(LMS)
* Experience of ISO accreditation/FDA regulations for Lab systems
* Proficient in the use of JMP statistical software or alternate
