I am delighted to assist my client, a leading Health Insurance Group, in recruiting for Medical Screening Nurses to join their Health & Wellbeinteam in Dublin. The role will involve screening of patients and support the Medical Screening Nurse Lead in the delivery of care to the highest clinical standard in their Medical Centre and Screening Centre.

Duties:

  • Carry out medical screenings of patients to the highest clinical standard.
  • Support the Screening Nurse Lead in ensuring standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Provide leadership to agency nurses to ensure they are following policies and procedures.
  • Participate in induction training and competency assessment for new agency nurses.
  • Monitor and ensure that all required medical consumables and equipment are available, maintained and calibrated in the Medical Centre and maintain equipment logs.
  • Manage clinical waste produced in the screening process.
  • Provide clinical leadership to deal with patient complaints and incidents as they occur, investigate the causes and escalate as appropriate.
  • Answer patient queries as required.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and take a proactive role in identifying and suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure patients receive excellent clinical and customer-focused experience.
  • Support project work in the development of new initiatives within the Medical Centres, Screening Clinics and Home Services.

Eligibility Criteria

  • On the live Register of General Nurses (NMBI).
  • Up-to-date INO membership including evidence of current Professional Indemnity Insurance cover.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional, courteous manner.
  • Competent in computer skills.
  • Experience of working in a Health Screening environment involving near patient testing is desirable
  • SRN
  • Certificates of competence in;
  • Venepuncture,
  • Infection Control and Hand Hygiene,
  • CPR / AED / BLS
