My client is a market leading multi-national integrated manufacturer of automotive electronic systems for some of the world's largest car manufacturers. A multi-site operation the company have been in Cork for over 20 years and currently employ over 700 people across their Irish plants.
YOUR NEW JOB
As Maintenance Technician some of your key duties will include
- Responsibility for overall maintenance of equipment.
- Preventative maintenance and monitoring of machines.
- Maximisation of machine up time and utilisation.
- To become familiar with all aspects of new equipment / technology including production
- Carry out changeover of machines in line with production schedules and new product builds.
- Reviewing machines / area on an ongoing basis with a view to possible improvements.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
You will hold a Cert/Diploma in Engineering (Minimum NFQ Level 6) in Electronic/Electrical/Mechatronics
To hit the ground running in the maintenance tech job you'll have previously worked in the Electronic Manufacturing sector and have experience in fault finding, high volume automation & PLC systems.
A knowledge in Pneumatics, Electronics, Hydraulics, PLC's, Servo Motor Drives, Vision and SCADA systems would be highly advantageous for the maintenance tech role as would a knowledge of field bus protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).

With regards to the shift the system works to 39 hours per week rotating from Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to Thursday/Friday/Saturday every 4 week period.
Example : Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - nights for 2 weeks and then days for 2 weeks. Thursday/Friday/Saturday - nights for 2 weeks and then days for 2 weeks.
The shift pattern allows for one week off approximately every 2 months as part of the changeover from Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
